Shipping can be charged to the customer in a number of different methods, MyDeal recognises these different methods as ‘freight schemes’. Sellers are responsible for the shipping rates associated with their products.
We recommend keeping the shipping arrangement consistent across your entire product range to avoid customer confusion. Further to this, MyDeal aims to offer customers great value for money encouraging sellers to maintain minimal shipping costs where possible.
Please see the list below for optional freight schemes.
Free Shipping:
Offering free shipping adds an additional incentive to your offers and is the ideal way to attract customers.
Flat Rates:
An individual flat rate that is applicable to any location in Australia. This is a simple charge that customers pay upon checkout.
State Flat Rates:
Flat rates for each individual state or territory. This is a simple charge that customers pay upon checkout and offers some flexibility for the seller.
Multiple State Rates:
Flexible rates offered for different regions within states. This may include varying shipping rates for postcodes considered regional or metro. E.g. Vic metro (or) Vic regional
Freight Calculator:
Generates a shipping fee depending on the customers postcode. These can be set up for your deals by the MyDeal developers should you wish to charge freight per postcode. Please send an enquiry with your request to set this up.
Manual Freight Quote (Not Recommended):
Freight quotes allow customers to send a request for a freight quote to the seller. The seller can then reply to the request with the correct shipping fee. This is not recommended as the customer is required to request a shipping quote before finalizing their purchase and may deter them in the process.
