Search Keywords Guide
Keywords play an important role in customers finding your products and are a consideration for search result relevance.
While optional, adding keywords is a great way to optimise your range for discoverability.
Tips:
- Use this field to add additional terms to avoid keyword spamming your product title.
- Add keywords that are relevant descriptors for your product. Include synonyms, product type/noun, and commonly related terms and phrases for your product.
- Don’t use irrelevant keywords to target irrelevant searches
- Eg. adding Samsung to keywords for an Apple product
- Don’t keyword spam (ie. adding a large volume of unrelated keywords to the product)
How do I add keywords to my product?
For manual CSV sellers, these can be entered in the SearchKeywords field. Each keyword should be comma separated. The limit for this field is 2000 characters.
Keywords will also be fetched from the SearchKeywords field for Maropost/Cresco sellers.
Keywords will be fetched from the Tags field for sellers using MyDeal API, Shopify App and most other channel partners.
Please note - if your integration does not have one of these fields, please contact us here with your keywords and the MyDeal DealID.
How do I update keywords for my product?
After initial product listing ingestion, any changes to your product’s keywords can be requested by contacting us here.
To update or add more keywords to your product, please send through a file containing the MyDeal DealID and all of the keywords that you are wanting to be assigned to your product (including any existing keywords).
