Sellers on Shopifyapp, Magento 1, Magento 2 and WooCommerce integrations, who do not have the ability to assign shipping options at a product level, can make use of the Shipping Assignment feature in the marketplace portal to assign shipping options to their products.
To access this feature, go to “Shipping Settings” section in the marketplace portal and select “Shipping Assignment".
MyDeal supports the following shipping options :
- Free shipping
- Flat rate
- Flat Any Quantity
- Shipping/Freight Calculator
More details about these shipping options can be found in this article: Setting up shipping for your products
There are 3 ways to assign shipping options to your products:
1. Global Setting: Choose “Global Setting” to apply the same shipping option to all your products. As shown in the drop-down in the above snapshot, the shipping options that can be applied globally are – Free Shipping, Flat Rate, Flat Rate Any Quantity and Shipping Calculator.
If Flat Rate or Flat Rate Any Quantity is chosen, enter the flat amount as shown below :
If Shipping calculator is chosen, choose the freight scheme ID on the next input box as shown in the below snapshot. Note that freight schemes would be listed only if freight schemes were created beforehand. To learn how to create a shipping calculator, please read this article - Manage Your Freight Schemes.
2. Based On Product Price: Choose this option if you want to assign different shipping options to your products based on the products’ sale price. Enter the price ranges and specify the shipping option for that price range as shown below.
Important Notes:
- Ensure your highest product price sits within your specified ranges. If any product price falls beyond the range then the shipping option from the final range would be assigned automatically.
- This option is unavailable for sellers who have opted out of “Automated price updates” and manage their prices manually via marketplace.
3. Based On Product Weight: Choose this option if you want to assign different shipping options to your products based on the products’ weight. Enter the weight ranges and specify the shipping option for that weight range as shown below.
Important notes:
- Ensure your highest product price sits within your specified ranges. If any product price falls beyond the range then the shipping option from the final range would be assigned automatically.
- When this option is chosen, ensure that all your products have a weight in their product data. Products without weight will be rejected with error “Weight is required for shipping option assignment”
Editing Shipping Assignment Settings
- Sellers can edit their shipping assignment settings at any time within their portal however changes will not be reflected immediately on your existing products.
- Any new products created will be assigned shipping based on the latest settings however existing products would not be updated until the next scheduled full product sync.
- If product price or weight data is updated resulting in the product moving from one shipping assignment range to another (see below example) then the shipping assignment will only update when the next full product sync occurs.
- Consider the "Based On Product Weight" screenshot above - if a product with weight 2 Kgs is updated to 4 Kgs , it will continue to have free shipping until the next full sync. At the time of the next full sync, the shipping cost will be updated to FLAT RATE ANY QUANTITY $6.50
- Or, for "Based on Product Price" screenshot above - if product price is $40, it will have free shipping. If the product’s price changes to $60, it will continue to have free shipping until the next full sync. After the next full sync, it will have a FLAT $10 shipping as per the above assignment rules.
-
The date of your next scheduled product sync is listed on the portal homepage and the notes section of the Shipping Assignment page for your reference.
- If you require your shipping assignment to be refreshed immediately then you can submit a request.
