Sellers who sell alcohol products must hold a valid liquor licence that allows them to sell alcohol on the MyDeal website, provide the licence information to MyDeal, ensure that the liquor licence information is displayed on their listings for alcohol, and ensure that liquor deliveries comply with applicable state or territory ID checks where required.
Sellers who sell alcohol products can provide their liquor licence information to their Seller Profile page to easily display the liquor licence information on their alcohol listings.
How to update seller liquor licence information
1 - Update Seller Profile:
- In the Seller Portal, go to My Company, then Profile Page Settings on the left hand side navigation bar.
- Scroll down to “Do you sell liquor related products?” and select Yes.
-
Input the liquor licence information in the additional fields that will appear:
- Licensee name: Mandatory, must be between 5-250 characters
- Liquor licence number: Mandatory, must be between 5-250 characters
* The licensee name and licence number entered here are automatically inserted to the Liquor Licence Information template. By clicking “Preview how this text will appear on your product page” sellers can preview the text template.
- Wording required by your licence or local state registration: Input additional wording to be displayed on alcohol listings as required by the licence condition or local state registration. If no additional text on listings is required by the licence this field can be left blank. Must be between 5-1500 characters.
2 - Contact MyDeal for approval:
- When first starting to sell alcohol products on MyDeal.com.au, please contact the MyDeal team via the Seller Enquiry Form, attaching a copy of the liquor licence.
- The MyDeal team will review the seller’s liquor licence and their liquor licence information on their store profile and confirm if approved.
3 - Map alcohol products to the correct category
- Once the liquor licence information has been added to the seller’s store profile, the liquor licence information will be displayed on listings that are mapped to the following categories:
- Wine (category tag ID 2729)
- Beer & Cider (category tag ID 3829)
- Spirits (category tag ID 3821)
* For alcohol products that do not fall under the above 3 categories (eg. gift hampers or cocktail making kits), sellers must contact our team at categoryreview@mydeal.com.au (please include a list of the SKUs). Our team will flag the listings as alcohol products in the backend, so they will have the liquor licence information displayed.
* Liquor licence information does not appear on listings that are not mapped to the alcohol related categories or configured by the MyDeal team as per above, even if the seller liquor licence information is provided to their profile.
Sellers must also familiarise themselves with the Sale of Alcohol Policy.
Liquor licence information added to the Seller Profile is displayed on the Description, Delivery and Warranty tabs of alcohol listings.
