All users (admin and non-admin) can change preferences for their own account.
A. Change password
- On the left-hand side navigation, click “User Settings” then “Change Password.”
- Enter a new password. The password must meet all the criteria listed on the page. Ensure that all the criteria turn green with a tick to proceed to update the password.
- Enter the same new password again in the “Confirm Password” box.
- Click “Update.”

B. Editing MFA methods
- On the left-hand side navigation, click “User Settings” then “Multi-Factor Authentication.”
- The MFA method currently selected is shown on the page with a tick mark.
- Click “Enable” under the MFA method you wish to enable.
a. Enabling an authenticator app method:
i. Click “Enable” in the “One-Time Password App” box, and scan the QR code using your preferred authenticator app on your phone. Alternatively, enter the secret key shown on the page in your authenticator app.
ii. Input the one-time code generated on your authenticator app to the box below the QR code on the portal, then click “Confirm”
iii. A tick mark appears at the top of the “One-Time Password App” box to indicate that the method has been added successfully.
b. Enabling Mobile Phone SMS method:
i. Click “Enable” in the “Mobile Phone SMS” box, and enter a mobile number to which a verification code should be sent. Then click “Send Code.”
ii. A verification code will be sent to the nominated mobile number. Input the 6-digit code sent to the mobile number via SMS, and click “Confirm”.
Note: Each code expires after 15 minutes. To request a new code, click “Edit” next to the phone number you have inputted, then repeat from step i above.
iii. A tick mark appears at the top of the “Mobile Phone SMS” box to indicate that the method has been added successfully.
Note: Only Australian mobile numbers can be set up via this step. To use a non-Australian number, remove the One-Time Password App method so that neither MFA methods are enabled, and log out of the portal. When logging in next time, you will be prompted to set up MFA (Refer to section: Setting up Multi Factor Authentication (MFA)), where you are able to input a non-Australian number.
Resetting an MFA method:
If you need to reset an MFA method, click “Remove” under the applicable MFA method. You can then click "Enable" on your preferred MFA method to set it up again (Please refer to the above section "B. Editing MFA methods" to enable an MFA method).
If both MFA methods have been removed, you are asked to set up a new MFA method on your next log-in as per the steps in the section: Setting up Multi Factor Authentication (MFA))
Logging in with both MFA methods enabled:
When both One-Time Password App and SMS methods are enabled, you will be prompted to enter a one-time code via your One-Time Password App by default, however you can select another MFA method to log in.
- Enter your email address and password, and click log in
- When prompted to enter your one-time code, click “Try another method”
3. Select the method to log in with.
4. Enter the one-time code you receive via the method selected, and click “Continue” to log in to the portal.
